Its hard to "get inside" the stone with a loupe but you can just make out the characteristics of a lab sapphire - its still a sapphire and its still antique (synthetic sapphires and rubies have been around since the 19th century) and the diamonds are 100% natural earth mined stones (and very nice too)

the clasp has been replaced and there is a little solder showing

We think this is probably a piece by a lesser known or unknown maker although if there is a giveaway its in the little heart shaped clasp and the alternating figure of eight and oval loops perhaps you know who made it!?
