I set out to photograph the sunrise

with the lake absorbing those vibrant colors from above along with a breeze that gently moves across the surface of the lake leaving ripples of beauty in its wake at Wildflower Park

A small flock of american tree sparrows make Wildflower Park home for a couple of months during the winter before continuing their migration as this one takes a moment of rest upon the branches

I wanted to get some close ups from the wildflowers along the trail

Many more photo opportunities would come to photograph the ice storm after crossing over the South Fork Kishwaukee River at Wildflower Park. (536 17)
