The kits played together at length while their mother was gone hunting for food
Despite being completely exhausted
I hunkered down and hid in the willows - and was rewarded with a great encounter: this lynx “On the Prowl” with its partner
It was maybe a half an hour before dark
At one point the cows and the bull ran past
Wading Pool Format:Acrylic The kits played together atKatmai National Park, Alaska Katmai National Park is one of my favourite places to photograph grizzly bears. Salmon, plentiful in this area, play an important role in the diet of these bears. The mother to the three cubs in this photograph had crossed the river to fish. The river was flowing too quickly for the triplets to follow, so they anxiously waited for her to return. The cubs were also keenly aware of a large male bear meandering towards them.
