The stones are rose cut diamonds and they rest in closed back silver, cut down 'pie crust' mounts over foil to reflect light back out through them, enhancing their silvery colour and overall brilliance. It's beautifully made, the points between each 'petal' continues as a groove running along the dished back, and the shoulders are a masterpiece of rococo
