Even if you do have what you believe to be an all war time M1 you probably still have a postwar gas plug as nearly every rifle was updated with the Phillips style plug

US Army Sweetheart Apron US It measures about 2 1/2"Vintage WWII US Army sweetheart apron. It has the army eagle and says, "Seattle, Wash." The main body is white and the neck loop and ruffles are a light purple. The material feels like silk. It is in OK condition. It does show wear and is a bit wrinkly. The logo is a bit washed out and there are some loose seams and pulls in the material. It also has a few small light stains. See photos.
