The blackthorn berries are steeped in gin distilled by Langley for 6 months in the Danish Kirke Sby distillery and sugar is added before bottling. Sloe gin is not a gin, but a liqueur. It has an alcohol content of 30%, with a sugar content of around 10% and a predominant flavor that comes from blackthorn
