It does have a black gasket and does seal. It has a few dents and dings but is overall very nice. The top is marked Ritter Aluminum D. R. P. ang. The bottom is also marked Ritter Aluminum Made in Germany, Usually the markings on the bottom are worn off. A very nice example, just needs a good cleaning.
