After a few years of use, one Wirecutter staffer who has this pack confirms that the pockets have retained their shape and stretchiness
This made them very slick for pulling in and out however limited the use of the bags compression straps so I repacked with them stacked
For your college students travels home or abroad, the backpack has a strap that allows it to connect to a suitcase handle and an anti-theft pocket to hold essentials like money and a passport
Its incredibly durable, great for keeping your belongings neat and tidy, and it counts as a personal item on most flights while still providing enough space for a week-long trip, as long as you travel light
It will become one of my staple creek travel rods now
